Pope Francis has requested what he has named, “ 24 Hours for the Lord,” Where people can have the opportunity to visit a church and can find special opportunities for Prayer and Adoration, and have an opportunity for confessions around that date. This can be adapted to fit the availability and needs of the people.
At the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish, we have planned a “12 Hour Day of Prayer and Adoration” on Friday, March 28th at St. Mary’s Church where the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed and a extra opportunities for prayer are scheduled.
We are closing the Adoration Chapel for those hours requesting that the Adorers will take their normal hour to St. Mary’s so the Eucharist will never be left alone. We want to make this a very special day. We will have sign-up sheets for people to pick a time to visit Our Lord and ask that all ministers of Holy Communion, Lectors, Parish organizations and parishioners try to make a stop, a half hour, and entire hour, or visit one of the liturgies of the day. Let’s make Friday, March 28th a real expression of our Lenten Prayer, giving thanksgiving, honor and praise to our God, who has blessed our parish so much. Please take part and stop by sometime during the day.
Following this Jubilee Day of Adoration, on Sunday March 30th, we will have a Penance Service with individual confessions, Confessions April 1 from 4:30 – 5:30 and Confessions on the “Day of Penance and Mercy” on April 2nd.
